At present, policies are not available for short term car insurance for motorists who are not residents of the United Kingdom, unless they are ex-pats staying here temporarily, with a full UK, EU, EEC or NI driving licence.

This is because major underwriters have withdrawn this type of cover. We hope that it will become available again in the future, but we do not have a firm date at present.

If you are an ex-patriate who was permanently resident in the UK for at least ten years, and now live abroad, holding a full UK, EU, EEC or NI driving licence, please click here for quotes. Please remember to enter your temporary UK address and not your overseas address in the quote form.

Unfortunately, applications cannot at present be accepted by persons holding driving licences from other foreign nations, including the Commonwealth.
